LAN Extension Application Example
VES-404 and VES-402 are long-distance broadband switches and also LAN extenders. They can extend the Ethernet networks to a remote location without changing the existing network topology or resetting the existing network equipments.
Key Features/Benefits:
- VES-404 and VES-402 can provide VDSL2 bonding function for symmetric rate and asymmetric rate data transmission service.
- Generally, the Ethernet/LAN extender can provide a distance of up to 300 meters through a VDSL2 line, and the upstream and downstream speeds can reach 100 Mbits/s. VES-404 can bind 4 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line through software, further providing a distance of up to 1200 meters, and the upstream and downstream speeds can reach 100 Mbits/s. VES-402 can bind 2 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line through software, further providing a distance of up to 600 meters, and the upstream and downstream speeds can reach 100 Mbits/s. (Note: The upstream and downstream rates that VDSL2 can provide will vary depending on the line quality and VDSL2 settings.)
- VES-404 can automatically adjust the VDSL2 bonding mode according to the transmission priority order of its 4 Ethernet input ports and the input data rate, for example: bind 4 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line mode, or bind 3 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line mode, or bind 2 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line mode, or 4 VDSL2 lines are used alone. VES-404 can effectively allocate the total output bandwidth provided by the 4 VDSL2 lines to the 4 Ethernet input ports. Moreover, the user can set the transmission priority order of the 4 Ethernet input ports to make the data of the highest priority Ethernet input port is first output to the VDSL2 line.
- VES-402 can automatically adjust the VDSL2 bonding mode according to the transmission priority order of its 4 Ethernet input ports and the input data rate, for example: bind 2 VDSL2 lines into one VDSL2 line mode, or 2 VDSL2 lines are used alone. VES-402 can effectively allocate the total output bandwidth provided by the 2 VDSL2 lines to the 4 Ethernet input ports. Moreover, the user can set the transmission priority order of the 4 Ethernet input ports to make the data of the highest priority Ethernet input port is first output to the VDSL2 line.
- The output of VDSL2 bonding lines can automatically provide load balancing and fail-over to achieve the optimum data output.
- The VDSL2 bonding function can provide low transmission delay to meet the delay requirements of network data transmission.
- Ease of deployment: Because the VES-404 and VES-402 use existing telephone lines to transmit data, they can be installed and deployed quickly.
- Robust capabilities: The VES-404 and VES-402 can instantly and simultaneously transmit data, voice and video, and can be used for long-distance broadband network access, long-distance network extension and other applications.
- The fast Ethernet ports of VES-404 and VES-402 can be used to connect servers, daisy-chain multiple VES-404 and VES-402, or uplink to a Gigabit Ethernet switch/Gateway/Router.
